In this episode, my friend and fellow South Asian Indian adoptee (Kris Rao) and I discuss some, out of the very many, narratives of adoption. The kicker in this one? Kris wasn't told by his adoptive parents that he was actually adopted FOR 34 YEARS...
Join us as we discuss the numerous emotions and the effect this had and still does have on Kris' life, family, etc.

Listen in as my good friend, Maze Felix, and I discuss the oftentimes unspoken difficulties and struggles of being a transracial and transnational adoptee - we were both adopted by families located in Ohio. Being adopted is not always the "fairytale" that it's painted out to be. It comes with trauma, and we hope our conversation brings light to this. Maze discusses their experiences as a trans and non-binary member of the LGBTQIA+ community, and the adversity of it all. We also highlight the difficulties of having OUR stories portrayed correctly within the entertainment industry.
Enjoy the chai!

Trishna Malick
Come sip some Chai with T (Trishna Malick) and discuss topics such as adoption, colorism, equality, industry standards, women of color, fashion, music, acting, health, fitness, and so much more.
Trishna Malick is a transracial and transnational adoptee who was adopted in 1989 from India to a white family in the USA (Ohio). She is a vocalist and an alumni of the prestigious music school Berklee College of Music. After music school, Trishna pursued music, acting, and modeling. As a vocalist, she has performed for many major sports entities as well as entertainment venues. As an actress and model, she has appeared in music videos with Jessie J, Logic, Shenseea, among others and has also appeared on many tv shows and movies.
Through her developing podcasts, Trishna will share her experience as an adoptee and brown-skin girl in the entertainment world, in hopes of helping change the adoption narrative for adoptees, fight for women of color, and representation for her community around the trauma of being an adoptee, to the trauma of still having little to no representation as adoptees and BIPOC people.
